2020 is going to be a big year for Open Source and EU digital policy. As the EU institutions’ and European governments’ attention is increasingly directed towards Open Source as an enabler of the digital transformation, Open Source stakeholders need to be part of the conversation.
OpenForum Europe will bring together Open Source community stakeholders and policy makers a day before FOSDEM, in order to discuss public policy related actions at both the EU and the national levels.
Our goal is to increase our ambitions, move to be more proactive in Brussels and mature our advocacy presence. We will have a chance to gather the community to support research in our field, such as the upcoming European Commission Open Source impact study. The new European Commission and European Parliament are now in place, which means that we need to build new relationships and maintain old ones.
After lunch, you are also welcome to join the FSFE’s community meeting at MundoB, Edinburgh Street 26, in Brussels. The FSFE event starts at 13:30.
