The EU Open Source Policy Summit 2027 will take place on 29 January 2027, in Brussels, Belgium and online. You can already submit your expression of interest to participate in-person or register for the online edition via the link in the comments.
Organised under the theme of “turning EU open source ambitions into reality”, the 2027 Summit, looks at how the European Commission’s Open Source Strategy can be put into practice. Discussions will cover how the EU can reduce its technological dependency while being an active contributor to global cooperation, keep its existing digital businesses competitive and help new ones grow, and support the open source ecosystem in reaching these aims. The Summit addresses these topics through three priorities:
Public sector procurement as a driver of open source uptake and growth opportunities
EU-level instruments for the funding, maintenance and sustainability of the open source ecosystem
The role of open hardware in European industrial and digital policy
