The OFE Capital Series is a programme of country-focused events that examines the role of open technologies in national and European digital policy. Each edition takes place in the capital of the EU Member State holding the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, and provides a forum to discuss how openness supports that Presidency’s priorities and Europe’s wider digital agenda.
Every event brings together policymakers, public administrations, industry and the open technology community to address issues such as digital transformation, competitiveness, public sector modernisation and technology governance. The series grew out of OFE’s work to improve understanding of how open source, open standards and open digital infrastructure are applied in practice at national level and how these experiences inform EU policymaking.
By convening stakeholders in the Member State holding the Presidency, the Capital Series supports informed debate, contributes to evidence gathering and strengthens links between European objectives and domestic implementation.
